In only 7 days, our first ever WWII themed project will be re-released for its 5 year anniversary. At the time, our firm had been holding a contest for a holiday themed novel or novella that new authors wished to see published. We got many participants from all over the country (and a few abroad), all of which were very well written and interesting stories. However, there was one that stood out to us-- one we never thought would have. We weren't big on war novels, in fact, our firm had never before asked to see them (we were more of the memoir publishers, or the soft romantic fiction press); but, still, this one stood out to us.
Unlike the pure happy holiday pieces we had received, ones filled with all romance and happy holiday spirit, Redeeming Grace
had darker tones beneath it. We were at first ready to put it to the side when we read the synopsis, but I spoke up and we managed to give it a try. And are we glad that we did. Redeeming Grace
touches the reader in so many ways-- both through the loving happy holiday magic (both their for Christmas and Hanukkah!), as well as the darker undertones that surround the novella. This does, after all, take place in WWII (in Germany, no doubt). There are many close encounters and times the reader literally is holding their breath and praying the best for young Eva, a Jewish orphan in hiding at Annemarie (lover of SS guard, Diedrich)'s home. But, overall, this is, at heart, just as the story says-- a story of redemption. Redeeming Grace
will be available online and in retail on November 25th
(yes, Black Friday! So, be sure to pick a copy up either for yourself or as a gift for someone you love this year) for $10.95.
